Being Present to the Other

“When two are married, they look at each other and whisper: Hei-Haray Aht Miku-Deshet Li - “Behold, I will try with all my being to be present for you.”

The Book of Letters, Lawrence Kushner

(As always with Hebrew there are many translations. This is a more non-traditional one)

How present are you as you go about your day? How present are you to your own heart and mind and body? Are you able to be totally present to the Other in your life, whoever that Other may be?

To be present we need to be grounded, and to be grounded we need to be completely in our bodies. Trauma takes us outside of our bodies. Healing our trauma is vital, and brings us back home. Home to our souls and bodies.
