When Loss Visits

We are all experiencing loss at this time. And there are so many ways that loss shows its face to us.

Loss of belief can draw us into a soul despair. Loss of hope can erode the very fabric of our society. Loss of heart is the most dangerous. Without our heart fully feeling, fully awake, we can too easily fall into a stupor of the soul and forget who we are and how to genuinely connect with, and care for others.

But there are other losses which accompany and draw us into a maturity of self. Loss of ways of perceiving that can break us free from our own comfortable fortress. Loss of work or friends that have become too small for us, and a new invite comes for us to enter our larger soul. Loss of love that leaves us feeling alone and disconnected, yet in time, gives us a greater freedom.

What is the common thread with loss? 

It is painful. There is no other way to say it. 

And the outcome of that thread?

The pain does ease, and eventually, it becomes new life.

So, take heart, life is on its way!
